WHAT IS CORK?
Cork is the outer bark material of the Cork Oak Tree. This material is a very unique and is used to make many products around the world today.
WHERE DOES CORK COME FROM?
The majority of the worlds Cork Oak Forests are found in Portugal, Spain, Southern France, Italy, and North Africa. The unique mediterranean climate provides the only place in the world where these forests flourish.
HOW IS IT HARVESTED?
The bark of the cork tree is carefully removed and occurs for the first time approximately 20 years after the tree was planted.
Also, after each harvest, the cork tree fully regenerates and will be ready to harvest again in approximately 10 years, making every tree a natural renewable resource.
