In this weekly feature we will list our top (5) expert picks and (1) dark horse picks for The Greenbrier Classic at the Old White TPC Course in West Virginia.
EXPERT PICKS
1. Tiger Woods
There is no question that Tiger has some major issues throughout the season. However, in every interview he remains optimistic and keeps telling everyone that "he's close." Well I think "he's close" too and thats what makes him a great pick this week. Also, factor in that this is his first appearance at the Greenbrier Classic and there is no added pressure that comes along with a Major Tournament. Just tee it up and play golf.
2. George McNeill
George McNeill is quietly having himself a solid year on the PGA Tour, making 15 cuts in 17 tournaments. Last year he shot 61 in the final round to finish in solo 2nd place. Look for McNeill's name to be up on the top of the leaderboard late Sunday afternoon.
3. Brendon Todd
Another player having a quiet, but sold season is Brednon Todd. Todd has 3 Top-10 finishes this year, and finished this event last year in a tie for 4th place.
4. Keegan Bradley
When Keegan isn't showing off his fancy footwork during his pre-shot routine, he's typically playing really solid golf from tee to green. With a T-4 finish here last year, look for Keegan to make a move this week at Old White.
5. Paul Casey
Casey almost sealed the deal with a victory last week, losing in a playoff to Bubba Watson. Last year he finished in a T-11 here at the Greenbrier. You do the math.
DARK HORSE PICK
6. Bubba Watson
A winner last week at the Travelers Championship, Bubba is no stranger to the Greenbrier. Making it his favorite vacation spot when in need of some rest and relaxation. I expect that he has probably played this course more than most of his competitors this week and his momentum should follow him into this week.
